Get Involved!

Parents, carers and families are by far the most important influences on children’s lives. Parents who take on a supportive role in their children’s learning make a difference in improving achievement and behaviour. Their support can play a vital role at all stages of education. 

The active involvement of parents in the life of the school helps promote a learning community in which pupils can engage positively with school staff and their peers. We benefit from developing positive partnerships with parents by involving them in all decisions affecting their children’s education and learning.


Here are a few ideas of how you can get involved:

FAMILY FRIDAYS

8:50-9:30

SoftStart

·         Children can bring their grown-ups to school every Friday and find out what they are learning. Parents can go straight to classrooms with child and sign in there.

·         See Family Friday Calendar for weekly theme.

9:30-10:15

Community  Café

·         A chance to grab a cuppa and meet other families.  Management team available to answer any questions you may have.

·         Staff will pop down at 10am to say hello and answer any of your questions.

·         Class who are leading assembly will community café as a special treat- we hope their families can join them.   

10:00

 

TotStart

·         Soft Start for our youngest Team Wallyford Members. Tots bring their grown-ups to an hour of activities ranging from arts and crafts to Storytime

10:30

Assembly

·         Join Team Wallyford as we share how we get the most out of learning across the school community.

·         A child from each class is chosen for a special certificate each week.



VOLUNTEERING
We are always looking for volunteers to help out in the school. This can be helping on school trips, supporting in the classroom, supporting reading, or participating in action days.
