If you wish your child to join our nursery, please contact our office when your child turns 2 to complete an enrolment form. You will be placed on our waiting list until your child becomes 3 and offered a place when available. Our waiting list for nursery is controlled by date of birth order.
Parents/Carers who live within the Wallyford School catchment area should enrol their children in November of the year prior to that in which they are due to start school. A child who will be five years of age between 1st March in any year and the last day of the following February shall be eligible for admission to primary school on the first day of the autumn term. Parents/Carers should provide details of name, address, emergency contact and family doctor and show the child’s birth certificate to the school together with a copy of their council tax letter and a utility bill dated no longer than 6 months old. Enrolment in the nursery class does not guarantee that child will have a place in P1. Parents/Carers who wish their child to attend Wallyford Primary School are welcome to visit the school to discuss this.
Children transfer from either Wallyford Nursery or local nurseries or nurseries out with the local area to begin Primary one. The depute head teacher arranges with parents and carers and nursery staff for children to make several visits to the school, their classroom and meet their teacher as well as for school staff to visit the child in their nursery setting. A meeting for parents and carers usually takes place in June of the year the child starts school. Parents and carers can visit the school with their child at any time.
Children from out with the catchment area are enrolled if spaces are available. Enrolment in the primary school may not guarantee a place in the local secondary school.
