The Ready To Learn Policy was written in partnership with children, families and the staff team.
The expectations of all children are to:
Children who are finding the school day challenging can request "thinking time" with a member of management team. During thinking time they will identify what they need to meet expectations in school.
Adults in the school will support low-level disruptive behaviour by following the sequence caution>move seat>take time out. If a child needs time out twice in one day they are referred to management.
If children's behaviour to attitude is regarded unsafe they are referred straight to management. All referrals to management are recorded. If the child's behaviour/attitude does not improve, the child is removed from the mainstream class activities and home is contacted.
